Recently, almost everyone had an “I knew it!” moment when 17-year-old Kylie Jenner finally admitted to using temporary lip fillers to achiever her now famous overly pouty look. After vehemently denying going under the knife for years, Jenner broke the news around the same time the viral #kyliejennerlipchallenge took social media over by storm.
Jenner admitted to have insecurities about her thin lips and therefore decided to have them enhanced. As for denying those claims, Jenner said she did so for privacy reasons. In a classic case of splitting hairs, Jenner admits to tip toeing around the truth, but not lying.
While the older Kardashian sisters have always been fans of both surgical and non-invasive cosmetic procedures such as deep wrinkle treatments, Botox treatments and more, Jenner’s predicament has caused heated debates over how young is too young for cosmetic procedures. At the tender age of 17, Jenner has yet to use Botox treatments, but many are concerned that due to the highly public platform the Kardashians and Jenners are seated on, their seemingly casual attitude to cosmetic procedures will inspire a wave of body issues among the young men and women who idolize them.
During the period leading up to her highly anticipated admission, Jenner and her sisters emphasized that the perfect pout was a simple make up trick that anyone can achieve by over lining the lips with copious amounts of lip liner. However, the proof is in the pudding — well, at least the picture. A simple comparison of Jenner’s before and after photographs show that Jenner’s lips are markedly different.
